Well I wanted to call this Questionable Loyalty but I wasn't entirely sure if it fits as a suitable title. Sure I could have used the Hero of Canton or Canton's Robin Hood but it's only the Mudders that see him as a hero who stole from the rich and gave to the poor. I loved that episode . It just kills me to watch a large man hunching down, in what he thinks is a good disguise, trying to look inconspicous and failing miserably at it.

I really wish that you could see this piece in person because it looks so much better than the scan here. I'm fairly happy, well today I am (this might change tomorrow), with the way this portrait turned out. I have points that I really like about it and points that I don't. I won't bore you all with those points. I will however say this, the reference photo I used for this piece had the left side of his face in shadow. I did my best to fill in what was hard to see.

This was drawn in graphite. I used, 2B,3B,5B,6B,8B and 9B. Oh and just a touch of an 6H. I'm not very fond of the hard leads as I'm not used to working with them. I used blending stumps as well. I hope you enjoy the Hero of Canton, he's for sell in December at the Firefly convention in Burbank, Ca.
Keeps fingers crossed that someone might like him enough to empty their pockets to take him home.

P.S. For those of you who do not know who this character is, Run, don't walk, to your nearest video store and rent or better yet buy Joss Whedon's Firefly the complete Series and Serenity the movie. You won't regret it.
